While we do strive to reach financial goals and wish to expand the impact of our network, like any non-profit co-operative corporation, we are primarily a service-based organization that attempts to create value against many other purely capitalistic initiatives. Although we consider ourselves," non-profit," we are technically considered a for-profit enterprise, because the law does not provide for a 501(c) music services organization. If there was one to be allowed, it is certain that Dubxpress, Inc. would be considered tax-exempt. Regardless, we believe everyone needs music in their life. We also believe that making music is a genuine vocation with respect due; hence, music should be repsected as a product, with a price.

That being said, we are striving to meet and exceed the value that current on-demand music publishers provide, thus creating true competition with their enterprises. We like some of their ideas and services, but they have not met the current demand for integrated services such as free on-demand publishing and physical distribution to albums which desperately need that attention. Busy artists need someone to take care of their sales, and sometimes their marketing, mand almost always their manufacturing. Many don't want and/or can't find a publishing deal. That's why on-demand publishing came about. Let's look at some other music publishing services.

They offer merchant services, UPC barcodes, digital distribution, and a few other things helpful to musicians wishing to sell their album. Unfortunately, however, they do not offer on-demand publishing services, and you have to send them all the discs they sell, which is not efficient enough on the supply chain to pass the buck totally to the artist. They take 4 dollars off your product price just for warehousing it, which they don't even need to do. You can send your own discs to consumers, right? There are a host of other merchant services who act as a warehouse that interface directly with the musician, but with all due respect to them, they certainly aren't the Hub of an independent musician's direct sales, mostly because you have to pay for them.
UMM, WHAT IS THIS INTERNET THINGY FOR AGAIN?
What we are seeing is the problem of middlemen, and inefficient supply chains. The good news, however, is that a more efficient supply chain can exist through available automation technology, deft programming of that technology, and a superior web presence (high ranking organic SEO), all providing the musician and the consumer of music more advantage and rewards than any other music portal that has ever been established. Most of cd's will be under 10 dollars, although this will generally be up to each individual, but ALL single downloads will either be 50 cents or FREE, based on the choice the artist has.
